Simple Garden Joys

It’s MAAAAAAYYYYYY! Bulbs are blooming, perennials are popping, and the weeds are moving faster than me. I’m trying to take a moment, though, to enjoy the simple pleasures of the garden.

My mother is a potter and has been for longer than I’ve been on the scene. She is still actively creating at ClaySpace and selling her work in a variety of ways. The studio has a spring sale and that’s where I snapped up these teeny tiny bud vases.

As a child of a potter, I cannot resist pottery. Our handmade mug collection is threatening to spill from the cabinet and I’m doing a certain kind of five space Jenga every time I empty the dishwasher. So, I have transferred my affections to bud vases. There is absolutely no shortage of flowering things around here, so why not a posey in the potty? Or, in this case, the kitchen! Tiny garden delights up close and personal as you grab lunch fixings from the fridge.

And bud vases from the thrift store let you share garden posies with friends! I don’t think I’ve met a gardener who can resist sharing the bounty, be it flowers or food. So, let’s share our garden goodies with heedless abandon and bring some joy to ourselves and anyone else who captures your fancy!
